About Inclusion
Google's search engine crawls the Internet to include pages within their index. It is not necessary to submit more than one page from your web site to Google as their crawler will also include any pages that are linked to the web pages crawled. For more advanced services see Sitemaps. This will provide you free and direct reporting from Googlebot about their crawling of your pages. Submit to separate Google indexes such as blog, local, video as appropriate and get links in a similar manner from pages included within those indexes. See Google's Webmaster Guidelines for more advice.

Google's Free Webmaster Central & Tools
Free resources for webmasters provided by Google including their site status wizard which will report if your site is currently being indexed by Google. No other search engine provides direct reporting and alerts like Google does with its webmaster central resources, and best of all they are free. Webmaster tools include robots.txt validation, crawl info, keyword reporting and more to keep you well informed about your website's inclusion.

Website Statistics & Analytics Google Analytics

Originally known as Urchin this analytics program was purchased by Google in November 2005. Since then, Google has provided this reporting service free of charge for sites large and small.

When registering you are prompted to enter your website address along with an account name and your time zone. Then you provide your contact information for the account and agree to the terms and conditions. You are then provided a JavaScript code snippet to insert within your web pages. You may verify that your tracking code is installed correctly by using their "Check Status" function.

Reports are compiled over time and may be viewed based on different roles including Executive, Marketer & Webmaster. For example, within the marketer's or executive's report, select "Site Overlay" to view the popularity of links within your web pages.

You may set up custom filters for your account to exclude certain visitors or traffic.
